Saudi Center Forecasts Hotter Summer with Above-Normal Temperatures

The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has released its seasonal climate report for summer 2026, predicting above-normal temperatures across all regions of Saudi Arabia. According to the report, rainfall is expected to range between near-normal and below-normal levels in several areas.

Temperature Forecasts

In June, temperatures could rise by up to 1.5 degrees Celsius above normal in Jazan, Baha, parts of Makkah, Asir, Madinah, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, and Tabuk. During July and August, temperatures are expected to increase by as much as 1.6 degrees Celsius above normal in Jazan, Baha, and parts of Asir and Makkah.

Rainfall Predictions

Rainfall in June is expected to remain near normal across the Kingdom. However, July forecasts indicate below-average rainfall in Jazan, Baha, parts of Asir, Makkah, Najran, and the Eastern regions. Precipitation is expected to remain near normal in the rest of the Kingdom.
