Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed Goraya on Monday chaired a series of meetings to review progress on various development projects and public welfare initiatives in Vehari. The agenda included e-Biz Punjab Portal applications, beautification schemes, Green Property Certificates, Wanda Jat digitalisation, the Model Village Project, e-tendering, installation of net-covered manholes, and post-Eid-ul-Adha sanitation arrangements.
Focus on Public Welfare
Goraya directed all departments to expedite implementation of public welfare initiatives under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The meetings reviewed progress on the Punjab Development Program (PDP), PCP projects, sewerage, drainage, water supply schemes, underground water storage tanks, and the Rail Bazar beautification project, which is scheduled for completion by June 15.
e-Biz Punjab Portal Progress
Officials informed the meeting that out of 1,502 e-Biz Punjab Portal applications, 1,200 had been approved for NOCs, 165 were pending due to incomplete documents, and 81 had been rejected under the prescribed criteria. The Deputy Commissioner instructed departments to clear pending cases promptly.
Manhole Safety Nets and Sanitation
Goraya also directed acceleration of safety net installation on manholes across the district, which has a total of 32,066 manholes. He appreciated district officers and Suthra Punjab workers for the successful completion of the Zero Waste Mission during Eid-ul-Adha.
Green Property Certificate and Digitalisation
The Deputy Commissioner announced that the Green Property Certificate service would be launched from July 1 to ensure transparency in property transactions. He also directed officials to speed up Wanda Jat digitalisation and awareness activities regarding the Model Village Project.
The meetings were attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Babar Suleman, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Ghulam Murtaza, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance & DD Development Muhammad Afzal, Assistant Commissioner Vehari Anam Akram, SDO Muhammad Musa, SDEO (PEERA) Azam Joiya, and officers of the District Council and Municipal Committee.
