Police Encounters in Kahna Result in Death and Arrest of Suspected Drug Dealers
In a series of law enforcement operations in Kahna, police reported two separate encounters that led to the death of one suspected drug dealer and the injury and arrest of another. According to official statements, three accomplices managed to escape during these incidents, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and criminal activities in the area.
First Encounter Near Kahna Jhedo Puli
Early yesterday morning, ASI Tabassum of the Crime Control Department (CCD) Kahna, along with his team, established a checkpoint near Kahna Jhedo Puli. The operation was aimed at apprehending wanted criminals and drug traffickers operating in the region. When police attempted to stop a suspicious motorcycle carrying three men, the suspects responded by opening fire on the officers.
In the ensuing crossfire, one suspect sustained critical gunshot injuries. He was being transported to a hospital for medical assistance but succumbed to his wounds en route. The deceased was identified as Ramzan, who police stated was involved in drug trafficking and other serious criminal activities. His two companions took advantage of the chaos and managed to flee the scene, evading capture.
Second Encounter on Shehzad Road
In a separate incident, ASI Tariq of CCD Kahna attempted to intercept two motorcycle riders at a checkpoint on Shehzad Road. The suspects, upon seeing the police, attempted to flee, resulting in their motorcycle crashing into an electric pole. One of the riders, identified as Israr, a known drug dealer, suffered injuries including a broken leg and was subsequently arrested.
His accomplice, however, escaped during the commotion. Police have launched a search operation to locate the fleeing suspects from both encounters, emphasizing their commitment to curbing drug-related crimes in Kahna.
