Larkana District Authorities Enforce Austerity Measures for Energy Conservation

In a significant move to implement the government's austerity policy, Deputy Commissioner of Larkana, Tariq Manzoor Chandio, presided over a crucial meeting on Saturday. The session included ADC-1, all Assistant Commissioners, and Mukhtiarkars from District Larkana, focusing on fuel conservation strategies and strict adherence to market closure directives.

New Timings for Commercial Establishments Announced

During the meeting, it was unanimously decided to impose revised operating hours for various businesses across Larkana. All shops, markets, and shopping malls must close by 9:00 PM every day of the week. Additionally, restaurants, hotels, and food outlets will be required to shut down from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM, seven days a week, to align with energy-saving goals.

For wedding halls and banquet services, operations are now restricted to a limited timeframe, allowing them to function only from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM. These measures aim to reduce energy consumption and promote fuel efficiency in the district.

Strict Monitoring and Compliance Mechanisms Established

To ensure effective implementation, Assistant Commissioners have been directed to submit daily compliance reports directly to the Deputy Commissioner's office. This step is designed to track adherence to the new timings and energy-saving initiatives closely.

Deputy Commissioner Chandio also instructed officials to actively engage with the business community regarding the monitoring of market closure schedules. In cases of violations, authorities have requested police cooperation to enforce the rules and maintain order.

These actions underscore Larkana's commitment to supporting national austerity efforts while balancing economic activities with environmental sustainability.
