Rawalpindi Police Conducts Extensive Flag March for Eid Security
In a significant effort to maintain law and order during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, police in Rawalpindi conducted a comprehensive flag march across the city. The march was led by SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob and involved a wide array of law enforcement personnel, including divisional SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, Dolphin Force, Traffic Police, and Elite Commandos. This coordinated display of police presence aimed to reassure citizens and deter potential criminal activities during the festive period.
Route and Participation Details
The flag march commenced from the Police Lines Headquarters and proceeded through major roads and key areas of Rawalpindi, ensuring high visibility in critical locations. Additionally, similar flag marches were carried out in the Taxila, Gujar Khan, and Kahuta circles under the supervision of senior officers, extending the security measures to surrounding regions. City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani emphasized that the purpose of the march was to demonstrate the police's unwavering commitment to peace and foolproof security arrangements during Eid.
Security Measures and Personnel Deployment
CPO Hamdani revealed that more than 6,000 officers and personnel were deployed to perform duties throughout the Eid holidays. Special security measures were implemented at over 1,400 mosques, imambargahs, and open places designated for Eid congregations to ensure the safety of worshippers and attendees. Furthermore, the police established 40 special pickets specifically aimed at curbing illegal activities such as one-wheeling and aerial firing, with strict monitoring protocols in place to enforce the law effectively.
Warnings and Priorities
In a stern warning, CPO Hamdani stated that strict action would be taken against individuals found violating the law, underscoring the police's zero-tolerance policy towards disruptions during the celebrations. He reiterated that the protection of citizens' lives and property remains the top priority for the Rawalpindi Police, who continue to perform their duties with vigilance and dedication around the clock. This proactive approach highlights the department's efforts to foster a secure environment for all residents during Eid.
