Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, presided over a review meeting of the National Action Plan (NAP) and Apex Committee held at Darbar Hall. The session assessed the overall law and order situation in the district, the status of NAP implementation, security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, efforts to curb hate material and wall chalking, enforcement of the Loudspeaker Act, prevention of illegal activities, and the performance of relevant departments.

Directives for NAP Implementation and Coordination

During the meeting, DC Nizamani directed all concerned departments to ensure effective implementation of every point of the National Action Plan. He stressed that all institutions should fulfill their responsibilities through close coordination and a comprehensive strategy. The DC emphasized the need for a unified approach to maintain peace and order in the district.

Muharram Security and Public Facilities

The Deputy Commissioner instructed officers to ensure foolproof security arrangements for Muharram processions and religious gatherings. He also ordered effective arrangements for cleanliness, lighting, drinking water, medical facilities, and traffic management to facilitate mourners. The DC specifically directed HESCO administration to guarantee an uninterrupted electricity supply during Muharram-ul-Haram.

Transport Fare Reduction and Anti-Illegal Fuel Operations

DC Nizamani directed all Assistant Commissioners to hold meetings with transporters following the recent reduction in petroleum prices and ensure that public transport fares are reduced to provide relief to the public. He specifically instructed the Assistant Commissioner of Qazi Ahmed to take strict action against those involved in the illegal sale of petroleum products.

Food Safety and Municipal Measures

The DC also instructed the Food Control Authority to intensify operations against the sale of substandard food items. He directed the Municipal Corporation to ensure cleanliness, safe drinking water, and proper lighting along the routes of Majalis and mourning processions during Muharram.

Meeting Attendees and Briefings

The meeting was attended by officers of law enforcement agencies, Assistant Commissioners, district officers, and other relevant officials. They briefed participants on the performance of their respective departments and the implementation of the National Action Plan. Among those present were Pakistan Army Officer Tajammal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Saddam Hussain Memon, District Health Officer Dr. Mudassar Hussain, DSP Dure Tabish, and officials from Police, Rescue, Local Government, Social Welfare, Information Department, Rangers, and other concerned departments.
