DPO Gujrat Reviews Muharram Security Measures

GUJRAT - District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat, Akhtar Farooq, conducted visits to various imambargahs and procession routes across the district to assess the security arrangements in place for Muharram-ul-Haram. According to police sources, he inspected Imambargah Hussainia located in Main Bazaar Gujrat, an imambargah on Railway Road in Lalamusa, as well as the procession routes in the areas of Sadr Kharian, Dinga, and Mangowal.

Security Review and Directives

During his visit, the DPO reviewed the security measures, traffic management plans, entry and exit points, and other arrangements designated for Muharram processions and majalis. He issued directives to the concerned officers, emphasizing the need to ensure foolproof security for mourners and to maintain effective coordination among all relevant departments.

Priority on Peace and Order

Akhtar Farooq stated that maintaining peace and law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram is the top priority of Punjab Police. He added that all processions and majalis would be closely monitored, and all available resources would be utilized to guarantee the safety and security of mourners.
