Khanewal Police May Report: Major Crime Crackdown Success

District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid released the performance report of Khanewal Police for May, highlighting significant achievements in maintaining law and order, combating crime, and ensuring the protection of citizens' lives and property across the district.

Major Operations and Recoveries

Under the leadership of DPO Muhammad Abid, Khanewal Police continued its crackdown against criminal elements and anti-social activities through effective policing, strategic planning, and close supervision. During the month, police registered 65 cases against illegal weapon holders and recovered five rifles, five repeaters/revolvers, one Kalashnikov, two carbines, two shotguns, and 49 pistols from the accused.

Anti-Narcotics Campaign

As part of an extensive anti-narcotics campaign, police registered 137 cases against drug traffickers and recovered 52.83 kilograms of hashish, 1.76 kilograms of heroin, 1.06 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), and 3,827 litres of liquor along with operational distillation units.

Organized Crime Crackdown

The police also intensified operations against organized crime, arresting 22 members of eight robbery gangs involved in various criminal activities. A total of 55 cases were traced, while stolen property worth Rs5.061 million was recovered from the suspects.

Proclaimed Offenders Arrested

The report further revealed that Khanewal Police arrested 54 Category-A and 209 Category-B proclaimed offenders during targeted operations conducted throughout the district.

Public-Friendly Policing Initiatives

Meanwhile, under the public-friendly policing policy of DPO Muhammad Abid, Police Service Centres continued providing 16 different services under one roof. During May, a total of 9,573 citizens benefited from these facilities. The Police Protection Centre addressed the issues of 317 women and transgender persons, while the Misaaq Centre facilitated the resolution of problems faced by 248 members of minority communities.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Muhammad Abid reiterated the department's commitment to eliminating crime, protecting citizens, and ensuring quality public service. He said strict and impartial action against lawbreakers would continue across the district to maintain peace and public safety.
