Muzaffargarh: District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah on Monday directed law enforcement agencies to take stringent action against criminal gangs, particularly targeting the ringleader Kashif alias Kashi Dasti, who is wanted in multiple cases of robbery, highway crimes, theft, and other serious offenses.
Case Registered at Saddar Police Station
According to police spokesperson Waseem Khan Gopang, a formal criminal case has been registered at Saddar Police Station Muzaffargarh under various severe sections of the law. Special police teams have been constituted to apprehend the accused and bring them to justice.
Details of the Incident
The First Information Report (FIR) states that complainant Ibrahim reported an incident that occurred on May 30, 2026, at approximately 8:45 PM. He was sitting at Bismillah Drink Corner in Basti Jaday Wala when Kashif alias Kashi Dasti, accompanied by several associates, arrived at the scene. The suspects were allegedly armed with Kalashnikov rifles, pistols, iron rods, and sticks, and they subjected the complainant to physical assault.
The complainant further alleged that the accused struck him on the head with the butt of a Kalashnikov rifle, severely beat him, and forcibly took his valuable wristwatch along with cash amounting to approximately Rs25,000. The suspects also recorded videos of the incident and ordered him to flee. Upon his refusal, Kashif allegedly opened direct fire, with a bullet grazing his trouser leg near his right leg. Another suspect, identified as Sanwal Dasti, reportedly fired a shot that passed close to the complainant’s right-side pocket.
Legal Proceedings
Following the complaint, Saddar Police Station registered a case under Sections 506-B, 337-H (2), 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Police officials confirmed that raids are being conducted and multiple teams have been mobilized to arrest both the nominated and unidentified suspects involved in the incident.
Police Spokesperson Waseem Khan Gopang stated that law enforcement agencies are continuing indiscriminate operations against criminal gangs and organized groups across the district. He reiterated that no leniency would be shown towards individuals involved in criminal activities and expressed confidence that the members of the Kashif alias Kashi Dasti gang would soon be arrested and brought to justice.
