The Punjab government has formally requested the deployment of Pakistan Army and Rangers personnel to bolster security arrangements across the province during Muharramul Haram. The Punjab Home Department has submitted a request to the Ministry of Interior, seeking support from the armed forces and Rangers to maintain law and order and ensure the peaceful conduct of religious activities throughout the sacred month.

Deployment Details

According to official sources, a total of 137 companies have been requested for deployment across 39 districts of Punjab. This includes 61 companies of the Pakistan Army and 76 companies of the Rangers. The security personnel will be deployed from the 1st to the 11th of Muharram, with the number of personnel in each district determined by specific security requirements.

Objective

The additional deployment aims to provide comprehensive security for religious gatherings, majalis, and processions. It will assist local law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and public safety throughout the observance of Muharram. Authorities emphasized that the presence of the army and Rangers is crucial to prevent any untoward incidents and to ensure that religious activities proceed without disruption.
