Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi on Tuesday emphasized that a robust Parliament is the bedrock of democracy, constitutional supremacy, and public trust. In his message marking the International Day of Parliament, he highlighted the importance of dialogue, consensus-building, and effective legislation to address national challenges.
Governor Calls for Inclusive Representation
Hashmi stressed that meaningful parliamentary representation of youth and women would further strengthen democratic institutions. He asserted that upholding the Constitution and reinforcing democratic structures are essential for a bright and stable future for the country.
The International Day of Parliament offers an opportunity to renew commitment to democratic values, placing national interest above all else, the governor added.
CM Murad Orders Crackdown on Wheat Hoarding
Separately, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has ordered a strict crackdown on wheat hoarding and profiteering to prevent artificial shortages. The directive aims to ensure stable prices and adequate supply of wheat in the province.
