JUI-F Leader Condemns Life Sentences for Baloch Activist Mahrang Baloch
JUI-F Slams Life Sentences for Baloch Activist Mahrang Baloch

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) Secretary General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri yesterday strongly condemned the life imprisonment sentences awarded to Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Dr Mahrang Baloch and her associates, describing the decision as a “murder of justice”.

Haideri Calls for Equal Application of Law

In a statement, Haideri said that while political differences may exist with Mahrang Baloch and her organisation, justice and the rule of law must apply equally to all citizens. “There may be political disagreements with Mahrang and her party, but justice and law should remain the same for everyone,” the lawmaker said.

Warning of Growing Resistance

The JUI-F leader warned that the Baloch people were being deliberately pushed towards resistance through such measures. He argued that judicial actions of this nature were contrary to the Constitution, the law, and Pakistan’s broader national interests. Haideri questioned the government’s approach, asking what it hoped to achieve by opening multiple fronts of conflict within the country.

Call for Dialogue Over Conflict

He noted that following the emergence of serious issues in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmiris had also begun mobilising against what he described as injustices. “Wars and disagreements do occur, but meaningful dialogue is an essential process for resolving them, and it is the responsibility of the state to facilitate such negotiations,” he said. He urged the authorities to address political grievances through dialogue and constitutional means rather than measures that could further deepen tensions and alienation.
