The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is confident of securing a historic victory in the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections, believing it can capitalise on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) 'downfall' amid ongoing protests in the valley.
PPP Leader Claims Changing Public Mood
Party leader Chaudhry Riaz claimed that growing public discontent with the ruling PML-N has created the conditions for a sweeping electoral win. Riaz said the ongoing protests across the valley had altered the political landscape, arguing that the changing public mood had opened the door for the PPP to emerge as the dominant force.
Protests as a Catalyst for Political Shift
According to Riaz, the protests have significantly eroded support for the PML-N, which has been in power in AJK. He emphasised that the PPP's campaign is resonating with voters who are frustrated with the current administration's performance. The party expects to translate this dissatisfaction into a decisive mandate.
Historic Victory on the Horizon
The PPP leadership is optimistic about winning a majority of seats in the AJK Legislative Assembly. Riaz stated that the party's grassroots network and historical ties to the region would further bolster its chances. He concluded by urging supporters to turn out in large numbers to ensure a 'historic' outcome.
