Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, delivered a powerful address to the youth of the province on Friday, emphasizing their critical role as the nation's future and the urgent need to equip them with accurate historical knowledge.
Countering False Narratives, Embracing Dialogue
Speaking at the 18th Balochistan National Workshop in Quetta, CM Bugti tackled the issue of misinformation head-on. He stated that a systematic campaign of false narratives on social media has attempted to create a rift between the state and its young citizens. He clarified that the state has never pursued a policy of indiscriminate force in Balochistan, adding that labeling limited, targeted actions as broad state operations is factually incorrect.
The Chief Minister pointed out a significant gap between the perceptions often circulated about Balochistan and the actual ground realities. He warned that the youth are being targeted through mental deception and organized recruitment tactics, calling for vigilance. "The dreams of weakening the state through violence and chaos would never be realized," he asserted, declaring Pakistan a strong and invincible country that would always remain stable.
A Blueprint for Governance and Development
Mir Sarfraz Bugti outlined his government's practical steps towards effective governance, which he described as a cornerstone of state stability. He presented a list of tangible achievements:
- Reactivation of over 3,200 previously closed schools across the province.
- Establishment of Pakistan's basic medical facilities for the first time in many backward areas.
- Implementation of the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program, hailed as the largest educational scholarship initiative in Balochistan's history, which includes children of civilian martyrs, minorities, and transgender persons.
- Opening doors for students to study scientific subjects at top global universities, with PhD opportunities in more than 200 international institutions.
An Open Invitation to the Youth
Striking a conciliatory and open tone, the Chief Minister extended an invitation for dialogue. He expressed his readiness to answer the toughest questions from the youth based on arguments, dialogue, and facts. He promised his availability to engage with young people at every educational institution, university, and national forum.
He urged the youth to adopt positive and truthful thinking, advising against blindly following any negative narrative without proper research. Reiterating his unwavering commitment, CM Bugti vowed to work for the betterment of Balochistan "till the last day, the last hour, and the last moment."
