District Returning Officer (DRO) Sukkur, Nadir Shehzad Khan, conducted a visit to multiple polling stations across the district on Sunday to assess preparations for by-elections on two local government seats. During his inspection, Khan examined the voting process and the polling camps established near the stations in compliance with Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regulations.
He received detailed briefings from presiding officers and polling staff regarding the arrangements, procedures, and other operational aspects. The DRO instructed officials to ensure the smooth conduct of polling throughout the day and directed them to immediately contact the Assistant Returning Officer in case of any untoward incident.
Khan emphasized that the district administration, the ECP, and local institutions are committed to ensuring that the electoral process remains transparent, impartial, and peaceful. Polling was underway for the Vice Chairman seat in UC Nasirabad and the General Councillor seat in UC Nandapur.
Accompanied by his team, Khan also reviewed the election process for the General Councillor Ward No. 3 in UC Nandapur, Taluka Pano Aqil. He visited three polling stations and inspected the arrangements firsthand. Polling is also ongoing for by-elections on 13 local government seats across Sindh.
The district administration would leave no stone unturned to ensure effective and efficient local government elections, he stated, adding that all legal requirements would be strictly enforced. During the tour, Khan interacted with voters to obtain feedback on the polling process, arrangements, and conduct of staff. Other concerned officials were also present.
