A joint flag march of Rangers and police was conducted in Mithi, Tharparkar district, on Monday to review security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram. The march was led by Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar Abdul Haleem Jagirani, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tharparkar Arif Aziz, and Wing Commander Pakistan Rangers Lieutenant Colonel Khurram Saleem.
Flag March Covers Multiple Areas
The participants visited various areas including Mithi, Diplo, and Village Verhijhap. They assessed law and order, security, cleanliness, and other civic facilities. The officials emphasized that Tharparkar is a peaceful district where people respect each other’s faiths and share joys and sorrows.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jagirani and SSP Aziz stated that no compromise would be made on maintaining law and order. They warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone violating the law. All possible measures will be taken to ensure peace during Muharram-ul-Haram.
Sanghar Police Deploy 2,685 Personnel
In a separate security plan, Sanghar police finalized arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram 2026. According to police officials, a total of 2,685 police officers and personnel will be deployed across the district. The plan includes 1,055 personnel assigned to secure 201 processions, while 148 personnel will be deployed at 74 Imambargahs.
Details of Deployment
- 11 Tazia processions will be managed by 44 personnel.
- 290 personnel operating 38 police mobiles and 50 motorcycles will remain on continuous duty for surveillance and patrolling.
- 95 personnel will be stationed at sensitive and key locations.
- 54 personnel will remain in reserve to deal with emergencies.
- Seven Quick Response Force (QRF) teams comprising 88 trained personnel have been constituted.
- 121 lady police personnel will be deployed for women’s processions and gatherings.
- 60 traffic police officials will manage traffic during processions and provide alternative routes.

The police administration stated that Sanghar Police remains fully alert and committed to ensuring peaceful observance of Muharram. All processions and religious gatherings will be closely monitored, and strict action will be taken against any elements attempting to disturb public order.
Citizens and organizers have been urged to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and security throughout the month of Muharram.
