The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is prioritising high-impact public welfare projects to ensure maximum benefit for the people, said Provincial Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Arshad Ayub Khan.
Chairing a meeting to review the progress of development schemes, the minister directed officials to expedite work on ongoing projects and ensure timely completion. He emphasised that the provincial government under Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is committed to providing basic facilities to the masses.
Focus on Key Sectors
The minister stated that special attention is being given to sectors like education, health, water supply, and sanitation. He said that the government is utilising available resources efficiently to complete projects within the stipulated timeframe.
Arshad Ayub Khan said that the local government department is working on a comprehensive strategy to improve service delivery at the grassroots level. He added that the department has been directed to ensure transparency in the execution of development schemes.
Review of Development Schemes
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the progress of various development schemes in different districts. He was briefed about the status of water supply schemes, construction of roads, and provision of health facilities. The minister expressed satisfaction over the pace of work on some projects and directed authorities to remove bottlenecks in others.
He said that the government is focusing on high-impact projects that can bring about a visible change in the lives of people. The minister also stressed the need for community participation in the development process to ensure sustainability of projects.
Arshad Ayub Khan warned that no compromise would be made on the quality of work and that strict action would be taken against those found negligent in their duties. He said that the government is determined to complete all development projects within the given timeline and budget.
