Peace Caravan for Religious Harmony in Sargodha Muharram

SARGODHA - In an effort to promote peace, religious harmony, and interfaith understanding during Muharram-ul-Haram, the district administration has constituted a Peace Caravan comprising prominent religious scholars and members of peace committees.

According to the official spokesperson, the initiative, launched under the special guidance of Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry, aims to strengthen communal harmony and ensure a peaceful atmosphere across the district during the holy month.

Led by Qari Ahmed Ali Nadeem, the Peace Caravan also includes Zonal Khateeb Auqaf Qari Waqar Usmani, Mian Abdul Ghaffar Azad, Ali Jafar Naqvi, and Mian Muhammad Raza. On Wednesday, the delegation visited the tehsils of Sillanwali, Sahiwal, and Shahpur, where meetings were held with local religious scholars, peace committee members, religious leaders, assistant commissioners, police officials, and representatives of relevant departments.

During the meetings, participants discussed measures to maintain law and order, ensure the peaceful conduct of Muharram processions and gatherings, enforce the code of conduct, and promote inter-sectarian harmony, mutual respect, and religious tolerance. The district administration has also penalized 2,279 vehicles in a number plate drive as part of ongoing efforts to enforce regulations.
