A wanted criminal was killed in an exchange of fire with police in the Sultan Abad area of Mardan, while his accomplice managed to escape, according to police officials on Sunday.

Details of the Operation

According to a police spokesperson, City and Hoti police jointly conducted an operation to arrest the suspect, identified as Shah Fahad. During the operation, the suspect opened fire on the police party in an attempt to evade arrest, prompting police to retaliate. As a result, Shah Fahad was killed on the spot.

Criminal Background

According to police, the deceased was wanted in several criminal cases, including attempted murder, theft, and other serious offenses. A total of 11 cases had been registered against him at City and Hoti police stations. Police further stated that Shah Fahad was involved in crimes such as theft, robbery, drug trafficking, and illegal possession of weapons, and was considered a source of fear and insecurity in the area.

Escape and Search

During the encounter, one of his accomplices managed to escape from the scene. Police have launched search operations and raids in different areas to apprehend the fugitive. A pistol was recovered from the scene, while the body of the deceased was shifted to a hospital for legal formalities.
