In a tragic incident, unidentified gunmen opened fire in the Kari Kot Bazaar area of South Waziristan on Friday, resulting in the deaths of two sons of a local tribal elder and injuries to a passerby, as confirmed by police officials. The deceased have been identified as Moinuddin and Naveed, sons of Malik Jamil Wazir, a prominent tribal figure in the region. The injured passerby, Syed Anwar, was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Police reported that the bodies of the victims were moved to the District Headquarters Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The attack caused widespread panic among residents and shopkeepers, who scrambled for safety as gunfire echoed through the busy marketplace. Officials stated that the assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Search Operation and Investigation Underway

Authorities have launched a comprehensive search operation in the surrounding areas to apprehend those responsible. An FIR has been registered in connection with the double murder, and investigations are being conducted from multiple angles to ascertain the motive behind the attack. Sources indicate that Malik Jamil Wazir had previously survived several attacks, and last year, one of his sons was also killed by unidentified assailants.
