A tragic road accident near Tariq Chowk in Kot Addu claimed the lives of three young sisters and left three others critically injured after a speeding mini oil tanker rammed into two motorcycles.
Accident Details
According to Rescue focal person Usama Zeeshan, the collision occurred when the oil tanker attempted to overtake at high speed. Rescue officials confirmed that six people traveling on two motorcycles were caught in the accident.
Victims Identified
The deceased girls were identified as 12-year-old Wajeeha, 16-year-old Haneeza, and 14-year-old Adeela — all real sisters and residents of Adda Garmani. They died on the spot. The injured were identified as 45-year-old Muhammad Khalil, 15-year-old Sumaiya, and 17-year-old Muhammad Altaf. Sumaiya and Altaf are also reported to be siblings.
Rescue teams rushed the victims to DHQ Hospital Kot Addu after providing emergency medical aid. Rescue personnel later handed over the bodies of the deceased sisters to their family after completing necessary procedures.
Police Action and Official Response
The heartbreaking incident cast a wave of grief across the area. Police reached the scene immediately, launched legal proceedings, and arrested the oil tanker driver. Taking strict notice of the tragedy, RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Muhammad Azhar Akram sought a detailed report from DPO Kot Addu.
According to focal person Mohsin Raza Kazmi, the RPO expressed profound sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and ordered strict legal action against the driver. The RPO further directed traffic authorities across the region to intensify crackdowns against reckless and negligent drivers to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
