HYDERABAD: A police officer was fatally shot in Mirpurkhas district on Monday in what authorities suspect was a land dispute. The entire incident was recorded by a CCTV camera in the Gulshan-e-Haider area of the city.
Details of the Incident
Town police station SHO Kamran Halepoto stated that 31-year-old Khalid Marri sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and died instantly. His brother-in-law was also injured in the assault. The police have arrested several suspects implicated by Marri's family in the cold-blooded murder.
CCTV Footage Reveals Attack
The CCTV footage shows several individuals intercepting Khalid as he was heading to work on his motorcycle. Another motorcycle approached at high speed from behind, colliding with both Marri and his brother-in-law, throwing them to the ground. A person is then seen firing gunshots at the officer at close range.
Marri's elder brother was also killed in 2015 during a police encounter with a gang of dacoits in Mirpurkhas. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the full circumstances behind this latest tragedy.
