Kostyuk and Zverev Advance to Wimbledon Semifinals
Kostyuk and Zverev Reach Wimbledon Semifinals

Marta Kostyuk delivered one of the most commanding performances of her career to secure a maiden Wimbledon semi-final berth, while Alexander Zverev finally ended his long-standing struggles against Taylor Fritz to reach the last four of the Championships for the first time on a memorable day at the All England Club.

Kostyuk Dominates Paolini

The 12th-seeded Ukrainian needed just 69 minutes to dismantle 2024 finalist Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-2 in sweltering conditions on Centre Court. Displaying fearless baseline aggression and superb serving, Kostyuk never allowed the Italian a single break-point opportunity, sealing her first Wimbledon semi-final and second Grand Slam last-four appearance after this year’s French Open.

Kostyuk will now face Czech ninth seed Linda Noskova, who continued her impressive rise by defeating Belgium’s Elise Mertens 6-3, 7-5 to reach the first Grand Slam semi-final of her career. The 21-year-old became the youngest Czech woman to achieve the feat at Wimbledon since Petra Kvitova in 2010.

Zverev Breaks Losing Streak

In the men’s draw, Britain’s Arthur Fery delighted the home crowd by extending his remarkable run with a commanding 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-0 victory over Flavio Cobolli. The British wildcard became only the second wildcard in the Open Era to reach the Wimbledon men’s semi-finals and will now face second seed Alexander Zverev, who delivered a near-flawless display to defeat Fritz 6-4, 6-4, 6-2, ending a seven-match losing streak against the American.
