Rain Spencer and Ariana Greenblatt have been cast as the lead stars of Little Five, an upcoming feature film produced by Anne Hathaway’s Somewhere Pictures in partnership with Pigasus Pictures. The sports drama will be directed by Ian Samuels from a screenplay written by Gillian Williams and Paul Shoulberg.
Story and Setting
Set at Indiana University in the early 1980s, Little Five is inspired by the renowned Little 500 bicycle race and tells the story of four young women determined to earn their place in one of America’s most celebrated collegiate sporting events. As they pursue an ambitious goal, the teammates form an unlikely bond and discover the importance of resilience, teamwork and determination while helping reshape the landscape of collegiate athletics.

Inspired by true events, the film explores themes of perseverance and equality against the backdrop of a transformative era marked by cultural change, memorable music and growing opportunities for women in sport. Additional casting details and a production schedule have not yet been announced.
Cast Background
Rain Spencer continues to build momentum following her breakout role in The Summer I Turned Pretty. She also earned the Best Performance award at the Tribeca Festival for Good Girl Jane and most recently appeared in Big Girls Don’t Cry, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year. Ariana Greenblatt, meanwhile, remains one of Hollywood’s rising young stars after acclaimed performances in Barbie. She is also set to appear in the upcoming heist sequel Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.
