Lahore is gearing up to make sports history by hosting the country's largest international boxing competition next year. The 2nd International Boxing Championship will take place from November 26 to 29, 2025, marking a significant milestone for Pakistan's sports landscape.
Official Preparations Underway
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar recently conducted a comprehensive inspection of the arrangements at Jinnah Sports Complex Lahore Garrison. The minister was accompanied by Secretary Sports Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial and DG Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Ch, along with other key officials, to ensure all facilities meet international standards for the upcoming championship.
International Boxing Stars to Grace Lahore
The championship will feature an impressive lineup of 44 professional boxers representing 15 different countries. The international contingent includes 38 foreign athletes alongside six Pakistani fighters who will showcase their skills in the ring.
Among the notable participants is Pakistan-born British boxer Lara Ikram, who will return to her roots to compete in this prestigious event. She will be joined by Pakistani talents including M Wasim, Waqas, Asim Zaman, Mohibullah, Jania, and Komal Akhlaq.
The international roster boasts several leading boxers such as Peter Dobson and Steve Geffrard from America, Eduardo Baez and Jesus Saracho from Mexico, and Kevin Boakye from Germany, promising high-quality competitive matches.
