Nazrul highlighted that Bangladesh’s apprehensions are based on real incidents rather than hypothetical risks, specifically referring to an IPL-related episode involving fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman. “One of our top players was asked to leave India after security could not be ensured under external pressure. This incident raised serious concerns regarding player safety,” he noted.

He further pointed out that neither the Indian government nor the Indian cricket board has provided concrete assurances regarding the security of Bangladesh’s players, officials, media personnel, or supporters. “Without credible guarantees, it is difficult to place the safety of our entire delegation at risk,” Nazrul added, underscoring the board’s cautious approach.
