Free Summer Basketball Camp Begins in Karachi

The 20th Free Summer Basketball Coaching Camp for boys and girls has officially commenced at the International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court in Aram Bagh, Karachi. Organized by the Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA), the camp aims to promote basketball and provide young players with an opportunity to enhance their skills under the guidance of qualified coaches.

Camp Details and Schedule

Due to the hot weather conditions, the camp has been scheduled in the evening hours. The girls' session will run from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM, while the boys' session will be held from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM. The camp will continue until July 28, with breaks on Saturdays, Sundays, and from 7th to 10th Muharram. Players aged between 8 and 25 years are eligible to participate.

Registration and Benefits

Participants can register for free. At the conclusion of the camp, all attendees will receive certificates and complimentary T-shirts. The coaching staff includes KBBA Secretary Zahid Malik, international coach Zafar Iqbal, Aamir Sharif, Abdullah Imam, and physiotherapist Najam Ahmed. Additionally, Tanveer Ahmed will visit the camp periodically to mentor participants.

Selection and Upcoming Series

Two U18 teams, one each from the boys' and girls' camps, will be selected to participate in a series against representative teams from Karachi, Hyderabad, and Mirpurkhas from August 14 to 16. The series will be coordinated by Engr Zain-ul-Abideen.

KBBA President Ghulam Abbas Jamal Ch announced the launch of the camp, emphasizing the importance of such programs for youth development. Jallo Gym and key clubs have expressed full support for the initiative, which is part of the KN Group's efforts to promote sports.
