A spell of rain accompanied by a severe dust storm swept across Lahore and its adjoining areas on Thursday night, providing much-needed relief to residents after a day of intense heat. The downpour, however, also disrupted electricity supply in several parts of the city as multiple feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) tripped, leaving numerous localities without power.
Affected Areas
Rainfall was reported in various areas, including Defence, Ghazi Road, Ferozepur Road, Walton, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Gulshan Ravi, Jail Road, Gulberg, Garden Town, Kalma Chowk, and Sanda, among others.
Weather Forecast
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that the wet spell is likely to continue on Friday, raising the possibility of further rainfall in Lahore and surrounding areas.
