Public Viewing Arrangements Across Sindh
The Sindh government has announced plans to broadcast the FIFA World Cup semi-finals and final on big screens across the province, allowing football fans to watch the matches at designated public venues. Sindh Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar said big screens would be installed in various divisions and districts to facilitate public viewing of the tournament's decisive matches.
According to the minister, matches will be screened at Sharafi Football Ground in Karachi's Malir area on July 15, 16 and 20. Similar arrangements have also been made in Malir, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas.
Sukkur and Other Cities Join the Initiative
In Sukkur, fans will be able to watch the matches at the Municipal Stadium and Rohri Football Ground, while sports complexes in Ghotki and Thatta will also host public screenings. The initiative aims to provide football enthusiasts across Sindh with an opportunity to enjoy the World Cup atmosphere together at public venues.
World Cup Reaches Final Stages
Meanwhile, the FIFA World Cup has reached its final stages with the world's top four ranked teams advancing to the semi-finals for the first time. Spain, Argentina, France and England all topped their respective groups before progressing through the knockout rounds. FIFA's revised draw format for the 2026 World Cup placed the four highest-ranked teams in separate sections of the bracket, preventing them from meeting before the semi-finals.
As a result, the semi-final fixtures will see France take on Spain on Tuesday, followed by England facing Argentina on Wednesday, with the winners advancing to the World Cup final.
