Later this year, iPhone users will be able to purchase bundled subscriptions for apps, as Apple announced it is expanding App Store bundles to include offers from different companies. This move mirrors streaming video bundles that combine services like Apple TV and Peacock, but could also package subscriptions for entirely different services, such as Instagram Plus and Tinder Platinum.
New Suites Feature
Another upcoming option is Suites, described as a set of subscriptions that are not available standalone, which users can buy as a single subscription. These additions were announced during WWDC, as reported by TechCrunch and 9to5Mac, alongside other App Store changes.
Updated Guidelines and Requirements
Apple also introduced new guidelines for removing opportunistic apps that do not receive updates or attract customers. Additionally, the company is dropping the requirement for Mac App Store apps to support Intel chips in older Macs. Developers will now be required to disclose whether their app or game includes social media capabilities for age rating and Screen Time purposes.
Apple stated it will provide more details on bundles and suites later this summer, likely closer to the launch of iOS 27 and its other platform updates in the fall.
