Saudi Auditors Graduate from First AI Leadership Program

The Saudi Authority of Internal Auditors, in partnership with IE University, held the graduation ceremony for the first cohort of the IE Executive Artificial Intelligence Program for Internal Auditors in Madrid. The event was attended by Hussam Alangari, chairman of the authority and president of the General Court of Audit; Abdullah Al-Shebeili, the authority’s CEO; and numerous university officials and representatives.

Strategic Partnership with IE University

The program stems from a strategic partnership between the authority and IE University, one of Europe’s leading higher education and business management institutions. Its goal is to prepare internal audit leaders to keep pace with rapid technological change and leverage AI applications in institutional work environments. The program focuses on automating repetitive tasks, enhancing risk detection, providing digital insights to support strategic decision-making, and integrating AI tools into internal audit operations. It also helps build governance frameworks aligned with institutional objectives and regulatory requirements while leading institutional transformation through a clear and actionable roadmap, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Graduates Congratulated

Alangari congratulated the graduates, expressing pride in their achievements and affirming that the program supports the authority’s efforts to advance internal audit practices and raise institutional maturity in line with its strategic objectives. Al-Shebeili said the specialized leadership program equips professionals to keep pace with rapid developments in the business environment and strengthens their strategic role in supporting decision-making. He added that the authority remains committed to designing and delivering high-quality programs in governance, control, and compliance.
