Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has established an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Mohafiz Command Centre to strengthen security monitoring and public facilitation during Muharram-ul-Haram, an official told APP on Monday.
Command Centre Objectives and Functionality
The command centre has been set up to enhance surveillance, improve coordination, and ensure timely response to incidents during Muharram processions and religious gatherings across the federal capital. The AI-based system is designed to support security arrangements by providing real-time monitoring and data analysis.
SHO Online Women Police Station, Sub-Inspector Maryam Nasir, briefed female volunteers of Imambargah Al-Sadiq on the functioning of the AI-based system and its role in supporting security arrangements. The briefing covered how the technology can assist in identifying potential threats and streamlining communication among security personnel.

In a related development, AC Vehari reviewed arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram in the district. The review included assessments of security deployments, traffic management, and emergency response preparedness to ensure the safety of mourners and participants during religious events.
