25,956 Farmers Clear Kisan Card Loan Dues in Bahawalpur

A meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Dr. Ayesha Khan was informed that 25,956 farmers have already cleared their dues pertaining to the Kisan Card loan scheme. The meeting was convened to review the progress on recovery of interest-free loans issued under the Kisan Card Scheme. Officials from the Agriculture Department provided a detailed briefing on the progress of Recovery Phase III during the session.

Recovery Details

Deputy Director Agriculture Muhammad Shafiq informed participants that under the Kisan Card Scheme, loan recoveries are expected from a total of 26,875 farmers in District Bahawalpur. Of these, 25,956 farmers have already repaid their dues, he reported.

Additional Deputy Commissioner's Remarks

Addressing the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner stated that Chief Minister Punjab is taking special initiatives for the welfare of farmers and the development of the agricultural sector. She emphasized that all relevant departments must fulfill their responsibilities in ensuring that the benefits of government policies reach farmers effectively. She directed the concerned authorities to further accelerate the loan recovery process and utilize all available resources to achieve the prescribed targets.

She also urged Agriculture Department officials to provide farmers with effective awareness regarding modern agricultural technologies, government facilities, and farmer-friendly programs so they can fully benefit from these initiatives and enhance agricultural productivity.
