Police in Attock have arrested five anti-social elements from different locations in the district. Cases under relevant acts have been registered against them, and all have been sent to jail.
Rape Attempt Case in Hazro
In the first operation, Hazro police apprehended an accused identified as Ishrat Mahmood, a resident of village Jatial, for allegedly attempting to rape a teenage girl. According to the victim's father, his daughter was on her way home when the accused forcibly took her to an abandoned area and tried to rape her. He further stated that the accused fled when the girl screamed for help. Police took prompt action, arrested the culprit, and initiated an investigation.
Gambling Arrests in Fatehjang
On the other hand, the New Airport Police Station in Fatehjang arrested four gamblers and recovered Rs 70,400 in bet money from their possession. Those arrested include Abdul Majeed, Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Irshad, and Muhammad Asghar.
Meanwhile, a major forest fire erupted in Murree's Gazara range, though details are still emerging.
