Baha region is home to numerous historic villages with traditional stone houses nestled amid its mountainous landscape, as well as rural lodges that offer visitors unique tourism experiences combining scenic natural surroundings with the region’s rich cultural heritage. Lodge owner Sharifa Al-Ghamdi told the Saudi Press Agency that she spent nine years restoring and refurbishing several historic homes to preserve their architectural identity and transform them into a tourism destination that highlights the region’s heritage. The rural lodges reflect Baha’s architectural and cultural legacy, demonstrating the ingenuity of using natural building materials suited to the region’s terrain and climate. They also play an important role in promoting cultural tourism and preserving historic buildings.

Baha region is home to more than 194 archeological and heritage sites, including 72 heritage villages. Together, they represent a valuable cultural and tourism asset that enhances the region’s appeal, introduces younger generations to its rich history, and supports the Kingdom’s national tourism development objectives. Several of Baha’s renowned parks and forests, including Raghadan Forest, Prince Hussam Park, and Al-Shafa Heights in Baha city, also attract large numbers of visitors keen to experience the region’s cool summer weather, scenic landscapes, lush greenery, and entertainment and cultural programs organized as part of Baha Summer.
Recreational Facilities and Visitor Experience
The parks, forests, and gardens provide distinctive recreational destinations, featuring breathtaking natural scenery, dramatic mountain terrain, and dense vegetation. Baha and its affiliated municipalities have intensified inspections of commercial establishments and restaurants to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health regulations. They have also equipped forests, parks, and gardens with family seating areas, children’s playgrounds, walking paths, a glass suspension bridge, an illuminated walkway, decorative illuminated rocks, and other public amenities to provide an enjoyable experience for visitors and tourists. Security authorities have also increased their presence in parks and along major roads to facilitate traffic flow and ensure visitors enjoy safe and comfortable access to the region’s attractions.
