Five held, drugs and weapons seized in Hyderabad raids

HYDERABAD: Police arrested five suspects and recovered a large quantity of narcotics, gutka, and illegal weapons in separate operations on Sunday.

Gutka Seized from Poultry Truck

According to a spokesperson, police acting on a tip-off intercepted a white mini-truck coming from Tando Allahyar near Abro Mor at Kasana Mori. Police found 137 packets of hazardous gutka containing about 15,070 sachets hidden in secret compartments under cartons of poultry. The driver, Adnan Pathan, and his accomplices fled on foot.

Drug Supplier Apprehended

In another raid, SHO Hali Road Inspector Ghulam Farooq Rahpoto arrested drug supplier Muhammad Atif Tanoli and recovered 2.57kg of charas along with the motorcycle used for transportation.

Mainpuri and Weapons Recovered

In a separate operation, police arrested mainpuri seller Khanzaib Awan with 200 packets of mainpuri, and suspect Nafees Panhwar with an illegal pistol and bullets. SHO Rahuki Sub-Inspector Noor Shahbaz Rand foiled an attempt to smuggle raw material and finished mainpuri near Tando Hyderabad Link Road Mor. Police seized 100 packets of finished mainpuri and 78kg of raw material from six sacks in a car and arrested supplier Umair Khan Yousufzai. The vehicle was also impounded.
