Girl, 7, murdered after attempted assault in Sargodha

In Sargodha, a seven-year-old girl named Minahil was found murdered after an alleged attempted assault. The incident occurred in Block 8, where the child had left her home to buy sugar from a nearby grocery store. She never returned, and hours later, her blood-soaked body was discovered in a room above the shop.

Family's Search and Discovery

Minahil's mother was preparing tea and sent her to the store, just a few steps away. When the girl did not return, the family grew anxious and began searching. Neighbors, relatives, and local residents joined the effort but found no trace. Police reviewed CCTV footage, which showed Minahil entering the grocery store but never exiting. Acting on this lead, law enforcement searched the shop and rooms above, finding the child's body.

Police Investigation and Arrests

Preliminary investigations revealed that a store employee, Arslan, allegedly attempted to assault the girl. When she resisted and raised an alarm, the suspect killed her. Evidence was collected from the scene, and CCTV footage helped track down those involved. City Police Station registered a case based on a complaint by the victim's father, naming four individuals, including Arslan. According to the FIR, Arslan had a previous dispute with Minahil's father and had threatened to make him 'remember the consequences for the rest of his life.' The rape and murder followed those threats.
