Rawalpindi Commissioner and Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Engineer Aamir Khattak, has directed the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation (RMC) to complete the Commercial Market Rehabilitation and Beautification project by the end of June, adhering to the stipulated timeline.
Meeting Highlights Project Progress
A press release issued by the RDA on Wednesday stated that a special meeting was convened under the chairmanship of the commissioner in the authority's conference room. During the meeting, the RDA chief planner delivered a detailed presentation on the progress of the Rawalpindi Master Plan. The commissioner reviewed the progress and instructed officials to expedite the remaining work.
Focus on Commercial Market Rehabilitation
An RMC officer also briefed the meeting on the rehabilitation of the Commercial Market, spanning from Al-Jannat Mall to 5th Road. The commissioner directed the concerned officers to accelerate the pace of work and ensure the Rs300 million project is completed within the given timeframe.
Emphasis on Urban Planning and Coordination
The commissioner underscored that the Master Plan is a vital framework for the city's planned growth and sustainable urban development. He stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all relevant departments to address emerging urban challenges, improve civic infrastructure, and facilitate better public services for residents. He further directed officers to ensure that all development activities comply with approved planning standards and timelines.
