KP Excise Intensifies Drug Crackdown, Arrests Three

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department has intensified its crackdown against drug traffickers, arresting three accused, including a female smuggler, and recovering 3.6 kilograms of hashish in two separate intelligence-based operations carried out in Peshawar. The operations were conducted by the Excise Bureau of Intelligence & Investigation Squad as part of the provincial government’s Zero Tolerance Policy against narcotics and in compliance with the directives of the Minister for Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control to strengthen anti-drug enforcement across the province.

First Operation at H Gol Chowk

According to details received from the department, the first operation was conducted at H Gol Chowk on the basis of credible intelligence. A female accused was intercepted and searched by a lady constable, leading to the recovery of 2.4 kilograms of hashish from her possession. She was arrested on the spot.

Second Operation on M-1 Motorway

In the second operation, conducted at the Joint Check Post on the M-1 Motorway, Excise personnel recovered 1.2 kilograms of hashish during a search operation. Two accused, Nasir Jalal, son of Abdul Jalal, and Naveed-ur-Rehman, son of Waheed, were taken into custody.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Cases have been registered against the arrested accused at Excise Police Station Peshawar, while further investigation and legal proceedings are underway. The Excise Department has reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating narcotics from the province and stated that intelligence-based operations will continue across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The department reiterated that those involved in drug trafficking will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
