Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering Fazal Shakoor Khan on Friday directed authorities to accelerate work on the Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme in Mansehra, stressing that the project must be completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining the highest construction standards.
Review Meeting on Saudi-Funded Project
The directive came during a high-level review meeting on the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD)-financed project, attended by Public Health Engineering Secretary Masood Younis, the project director, and other senior officials. The meeting was briefed on the project’s overall progress, ongoing construction activities, financial and technical matters, implementation schedule, key challenges, and the proposed strategy for its timely completion.
Project Phases and Progress
The project director informed the minister about the various phases of the scheme and the progress achieved so far. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Khan said providing safe and sustainable drinking water to the people of Mansehra remained a priority of the provincial government. He emphasized that the gravity flow scheme would play a key role in ensuring a reliable supply of clean drinking water to residents once completed.
Instructions for Expedited Construction
He instructed the departments concerned to expedite construction, make effective use of available resources, and ensure that all work complied with the prescribed quality standards. He said the project should be completed without unnecessary delay so that the public could benefit from it at the earliest.
