LAHORE: An 18-year-old labourer died after suffering a severe electric shock while working at a construction site in Manga Mandi. The incident took place at an under-construction building, where the victim accidentally came into contact with a live high-voltage wire.
Accident Details
According to Rescue 1122 officials, the worker was using an iron rod at the site when it inadvertently touched an 11kV power line. The contact resulted in a massive electric shock that proved fatal. Emergency services were called to the scene, but the young labourer could not be saved.
Response and Investigation
Rescue teams arrived promptly and shifted the body to a nearby hospital for postmortem. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that safety measures at the construction site were inadequate.
