Murree Police Muharram Security Plan Travel Advisory

District Police Officer (DPO) Murree, Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanvir, has finalized a comprehensive security plan and issued a travel advisory to maintain law and order while facilitating tourists during Muharram-ul-Haram. In a video message on Sunday, the DPO stated that the main procession of 10th Muharram will emerge from the central Imambargah in Lower Bazar at its scheduled time. The traditional procession will pass through Mall Road before peacefully concluding back at the same Imambargah.

Traffic Restrictions on Mall Road

To ensure foolproof security for the procession, general traffic and tourist movement will remain restricted on Mall Road and its adjacent areas on the 9th and 10th of Muharram, the DPO said. He appealed to tourists heading towards the hill station to strictly adhere to the travel advisory to avoid any inconvenience.

Other Tourist Spots Remain Open

The DPO clarified that apart from the designated security zones on Mall Road, all other tourist destinations and surrounding recreational spots in Murree will remain fully open to the public. Visitors can travel freely to these alternative spots, and Murree Police remain alert around the clock to assist citizens and tourists.
