Pakistan-China Friendship Celebrated with Tree Plantation at Karot Hydropower Project
In a significant move to honor the enduring bond between Pakistan and China while advancing environmental goals, a special tree plantation campaign was officially launched at the Karot Hydropower Project on the River Jhelum in Kahuta on Thursday. This initiative, organized under the special directives of the Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, aimed to symbolize the deep-rooted and ever-growing friendship between the two nations, a connection highly valued by their peoples.
Officials and Engineers Unite for Eco-Friendly Effort
According to Assistant Commissioner Kahuta, Ms. Shireen Gul, the plantation drive was conducted on the surrounding hills of the Karot Hydropower Project, with active participation from key figures. The Commanding Officer (CO) and Chinese engineers associated with the hydropower project joined in the activity, alongside Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Rawalpindi and District Forest Officer (DFO) Ms. Irum, as well as other officials. This collaborative effort underscored the shared commitment to environmental stewardship and bilateral cooperation.
