An inauguration ceremony for the Syeda Fatimah-tuz-Zahra Free Burial Service and Free Community Kitchen (Dastarkhwan) was held at Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi under the auspices of Pakistan Sweet Home. The facility was formally inaugurated by MNA Tahira Aurangzeb and Commissioner Rawalpindi Engr Amir Khattak as chief guests.
Commissioner praises humanitarian efforts
Addressing the ceremony, Commissioner Engr Amir Khattak praised Pakistan Sweet Home for its continued humanitarian services and assured full administrative support for its welfare initiatives. He termed the launch of free burial and community kitchen services a significant milestone and expressed hope for further expansion, including free medical testing facilities.
MNA Tahira Aurangzeb commends initiative
Speaking on the occasion, MNA Tahira Aurangzeb said she has supported Pakistan Sweet Home since its inception and will continue to do so. She termed the initiative a commendable step for the people of Rawalpindi and appreciated the Commissioner’s proactive role in promoting public welfare projects.
Services already benefiting many
Zamurrad Khan highlighted that over 500 individuals have already benefited from the Free Burial Service, while the existing Dastarkhwan at District Headquarters Hospital serves around 700–800 people daily. He also announced the establishment of a new Dastarkhwan at the inauguration site to provide quality meals with dignity to visitors.
