Pakistani Mango Exhibition in Jeddah Showcases 'King of Fruits'

The Consulate General of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistan Investor Forum, organized a vibrant Pakistani Mango Exhibition at the Danube Hyper Market Red Sea Mall in Jeddah. The event was inaugurated by Pakistan's Consul General, Syed Mustafa Rabbani, and attracted a large number of Saudi citizens, dignitaries, diplomats, civil society members, business community representatives, and media personnel.

Varieties and Quality on Display

The exhibition featured a wide array of Pakistan's renowned mango varieties, including Chounsa, Anwar Ratol, Sindri, Langra, and Dussehri, among other high-quality types. Attendees praised the taste and quality of Pakistani agricultural produce, highlighting the fruit's unique aroma and flavor.

Consul General's Remarks

Speaking to Saudi media, Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani emphasized that such festivals aim to strengthen trade relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He noted that Pakistan is the 5th largest producer and the 3rd largest exporter of mangoes globally. Rabbani proudly described the mango as the 'King of Fruits' and stated that Pakistani mangoes are among the sweetest fruits on earth. He further mentioned that Punjab and Sindh provinces grow over 200 main varieties of mangoes.

Export Statistics and Market Potential

Rabbani added that Pakistan exports over 100,000 tons of high-quality mangoes annually to markets in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Far East. He highlighted Saudi Arabia as an important and growing market for Pakistani mangoes, with demand continuously increasing. The Consul General expressed hope that mango exports to Saudi Arabia would surge as more varieties are introduced in the near future.

According to participants, Pakistan earns approximately $100 million annually from mango exports. The festival plays a crucial role in introducing Pakistani fruits to the world and enhancing bilateral trade ties.
