MUZAFFARGARH - The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted extensive operations against the adulteration mafia on Jhang Road and Multan Road, leading to the destruction of 15,000 litres of dangerous oil produced from animal fat and 2,000 litres of substandard milk. According to PFA Focal Person Haider Gilani, the confiscated items were disposed of at a designated dumping site in compliance with the Punjab chief minister's environment-friendly policy.
Under the directives of Director General (DG) Punjab Food Authority Syed Musa Raza, food safety teams, led by Director South-I Shahzad Khan Magsi, executed two separate operations during which thousands of litres of unsafe oil and milk previously seized by the authority were destroyed.
During an operation on Jhang Road, authorities intercepted a tanker carrying oil manufactured from animal fat. The consignment was allegedly intended for distribution to various factories and hotels. Subsequent laboratory testing declared the oil unfit for human consumption and hazardous to public health.
In another operation on Multan Road, PFA teams established a checkpoint and confiscated 2,000 litres of substandard milk, which was later disposed of in accordance with food safety protocols.
DG Syed Musa Raza urged citizens to refrain from purchasing or consuming unverified loose cooking oil and other food products. He reiterated that the PFA remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against the adulteration mafia and will continue to take strict and indiscriminate action to safeguard public health across the province.
