Tragedy Strikes in Changa Manga Forest

In a heartbreaking incident, four children lost their lives after drowning in a pond located in the Veersingh Wala area of the Changa Manga forest. The tragedy unfolded when one child accidentally slipped into the water, and the others jumped in to attempt a rescue.

According to rescue officials, the pond, originally built as a water reservoir for wildlife, was approximately 8 to 10 feet deep. The victims, aged between nine and 12 years, were identified as Aliya, Imran, Muhammad Murad, and Faizan. The children had traveled from Toba Tek Singh to spend their summer vacation with relatives. The accident occurred while their parents were away collecting wood in the forest.

Rescue and Investigation

Upon receiving information about the incident, Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and launched a search operation. The bodies of all four children were recovered from the pond and transported to Chunian Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the tragedy.
