The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted inspections of 80 food outlets across Gujrat district to monitor food quality and hygiene standards, following directives from Deputy Director PFA Gujrat Sadia Rafat.
Inspection Results
According to official sources, food safety teams issued improvement notices to 37 food outlets for violating hygiene and food safety regulations. Additionally, 11 businesses were fined a total of Rs113,000 for non-compliance.
Actions Taken
During the inspection campaign, the teams collected 10 food samples for laboratory analysis and disposed of 2.7 kilograms of expired food items. The authorities emphasized that the inspection drive would continue to ensure compliance with food safety standards and the availability of hygienic food for consumers.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the PFA to maintain high food safety standards across Punjab. The authority has urged all food businesses to adhere to regulations and prioritize consumer health.
