Rainfall in Lahore and Punjab Brings Relief From Heat

Rainfall in Lahore and several areas of Punjab on Thursday provided welcome relief from the recent spell of intense heat, as overcast skies and lower temperatures made the weather much more comfortable across the province. Light showers accompanied by thick cloud cover were reported in different parts of Lahore, including Abbott Road, Model Road and Islampura, creating a pleasant atmosphere for residents.

Temperature Recorded at 31°C in Lahore

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the temperature in Lahore was recorded at 31 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature remained at 29°C, while the maximum is expected to rise to 36°C later in the day.

Heavy Rain Causes Waterlogging and Power Outages

Heavy rain was also reported in Gujrat, Jhelum and several other cities, where low-lying areas were submerged and water accumulated on roads and streets. The downpour also caused power disruptions in various localities after several electricity feeders tripped.

Rain Forecast for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan

The Met Office said rainfall is likely in the upper regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well, including Upper Dir, Swat, Kohistan and Waziristan. In Balochistan, rain has been forecast for Khuzdar, Kohlu and Barkhan, as the current weather system continues to influence different parts of the country.
