Khairpur Police have successfully recovered a trailer loaded with imported cloth valued at Rs80 million, which was hijacked several days ago on the Thari National Highway near Khairpur. According to local police, the recovery was made possible through the use of modern technology during a targeted raid in the Golimar area of Sukkur. Both the trailer and the stolen cloth were seized from a warehouse.
FIR Registration and Investigation
An First Information Report (FIR) regarding the missing trailer had earlier been registered at Bubarloi Police Station. Following the recovery, another FIR was being registered at Site Area Police Station in Sukkur district, police confirmed. The police stated that five suspects had intercepted the trailer, which was en route from Karachi to Lahore, on the Thari National Highway in Khairpur and took possession of it.
Details of the Hijacking
The suspects unloaded the imported cloth into a warehouse in Sukkur and abandoned the empty trailer in Shikarpur before fleeing the scene. The police are continuing their investigation to apprehend the suspects. The recovery marks a significant achievement for Khairpur Police in combating cargo theft in the region.
